Sustainable Mobility Network
The Sustainable Mobility Network (SMN) is a collective of organizations across India dedicated to transforming urban transport by championing the “triple zero” vision: zero emissions, zero exclusion, and zero road deaths.
The network addresses India’s pressing urban challenges—such as air pollution and traffic collisions—by promoting clean, inclusive, and safe mobility solutions. SMN empowers new voices in mobility, facilitates active transport like cycling and walking, and drives key policy changes in collaboration with citizen groups, local governments, and subject-matter experts.
Through grassroots activism, community engagement events, and education campaigns, the network builds public support for reducing car dependence, enhancing public transit, and reallocating street space. Notable SMN programs include the “My 15 Min City” campaign, slow streets initiatives, and policy advocacy for non-motorized transport and electric mobility. SMN’s approach accelerates India’s transition to people-friendly, low-carbon cities while ensuring mobility for all.
