About the event

Moss Ball Conversations is a 2-hour workshop designed to transform climate education through dialogue and hands-on creation.

The workshop will begin with a Climate Stories Circle, where participants will share personal observations of environmental changes in their communities and discuss traditional ecological practices passed down through generations. This open conversation component honours indigenous knowledge, while building community connections around shared climate experiences.

The heart of the workshop will involve Collaborative Kokedama Creation, where pairs will work together using local clay soil, compost, native plant cuttings, and local moss species.

The experience will conclude with a Climate Action Planning Circle, where participants will brainstorm neighbourhood replication strategies and commit to sharing their new skills within their communities. Each participant will leave with a kokedama, care instructions, and practical knowledge for organizing similar workshops in their communities.
