About the event
The event will include a short nature walk, collective journaling, and an open sharing circle where queer and trans participants can talk about their relationship with nature and climate. They will also create a small, mobile installation with art, photos, and audio clips that reflect queer and tribal perspectives on the environment. The aim is to create an inclusive and safe space to connect with nature and climate justice.
Living with the Rain: Queer Voices on Climate Change
Urbanisation is a major driver of waterlogging in Delhi and cities worldwide. To sustain growing populations and economies, natural landscapes have been replaced with paved surfaces such as roads and buildings, which cannot absorb rainwater naturally. This leads to increased surface runoff, overwhelmed drainage systems, and frequent flooding in low- ying areas. In Delhi, sudden and intense monsoon rains have become more frequent due to climate change.
